Hall
Hall is the main space at Christ Church where students eat. One of the advantages of going to Christ Church is that we have dinner every single day, so you don't have to worry about making your own food if you don't want to (if you do want to then check out the self catering page here). It can also be a great opportunity to socialise because most people in the college come to dinner.
There are 2 sittings for dinner, informal hall at 5:45pm which is in a similar style to school lunches (you get a tray and someone serves you at a counter). There is also formal hall at 7:20pm where you have to wear a gown (but you can wear informal clothes underneath!!) and get served by hall staff. Formals cost the same amount as informals but you have the extra option of bringing up to 2 guests from outside of Christ Church. This is a great opportunity to bring friends from other colleges to experience Christ Church food, or to celebrate a special occasion!
There are also special dinners. Firstly, there are 2 guest dinners per term, which are fancier with a black tie dress code. You have the opportunity to bring a guest and enjoy a very nice meal! There are also themed dinners, such as Oxmas dinners in the lead up to Christmas.
